How the stock market works - book review

This book is not definitely for North American readers. I started to read this book when I figured out this book is talking about FTSE100 instead of NASDAQ or something like that. It is talking all terms in UK. For example, it is talking about Glits. From investopedia:

"Index-linked gilts, which represent a substantial proportion of all U.K. gilts, are indexed to inflation, similar to Treasury Inflation Protected Securities in the United States." I am not sure why one wants to read these materials but to me it should say on the book title, or the introduction that it is written for certain people.
