RBC's way of handling massive calculations

A simple way to deal with large number of monthly calculations is to spread them throughout the month. This approach will distribute calculations over a month period instead of first day of the month. This is what I have received from RBC regarding my inquiry:
Account statement cycles are staggered throughout the month, based on the first two letters of a client's last name. Regrettably, we are unable to change the date your statement is produced.
In your case, your statement cycle runs from the 23rd of the month to the 23rd of the following month. If the account statement date falls on a non-business day, the statement day is the previous business day.
Does this mean that RBC doesn't have enough CPU power to do the calculations on one day? Or is there any other reason behind that?
